Through the Dream Builders University Foundation, this vision can increase partnerships and touch more lives. Our IMPACT focuses on local education support, international educational and community investment, and inspiring students with life-changing connections through our Men and Women of Promise Conferences.

Harold Howard

VP Talbert House (Board of Directors)

Harold Howard is the Vice President of Court and Corrections at Talbert House. Over the last 15 years, Harold has been instrumental in nurturing and growing several programs that aim to assist families throughout the tri-state area. Some of these programs includes the Hamilton County Community, Outreach, Prevention and Education (COPE) program. Today COPE provides much needed mental health prevention services to well over 95,429 adults and adolescents annually. Harold was also instrumental in growing the county’s nationally recognized crisis and suicide prevention hotline known locally as 281-Care or the 988 Hotline. He’s partner with the Hamilton County and Youth At The Center to put on several youth conferences including ASKMEWHOIAM and Independent Center.

Harold views himself as a community servant who is always striving to do his part to enrich our community one life at a time. Harold is married to Mahogany Howard and they are the proud parents of three amazing girls, Alexia, Ty, and Malia.

About Talbert House:

Talbert House is a nonprofit organization that provides prevention, assessment, and treatment services for mental health issues and substance abuse. The mission of Talbert House is to improve social behavior and enhance personal recovery and growth in individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Each year, Talbert House offers treatment services to over 26,000 individuals as well as providing prevention and hotline services to 1000,000 individuals.


LaMarqué D. Ward Sr.

President DBU (Board of Directors)

LaMarque’ D. Ward, Sr. founded Deam Builders University in 2015 to educate young men and women about leadership skills. Since then, DBU has been a leader in providing professional development services for schools.

LaMarqué is an internationally acclaimed educator, speaker, author, trainer, and coach. He utilizes a profound insight gained by years of struggle, gain, and achievement to engage each audience with an uncanny ability to reach collective common ground. He shares his life in the form of practical wisdom and has expertise in connecting with the needs of others and breaking down barriers that ordinarily hinder success.

As president of DBU, he has led successful intervention efforts for at-risk youth in Cincinnati and around the country by providing expert-level leadership development and coaching for staff. He has also created several student interventions that focus on social-emotional learning (SEL) for students./p>

LaMarqué’s first book, Competing as a Lifestyle: You vs. You, A Student’s Guide to Greatness, was well received by diverse readers. And his sophomore volume, Dream Building for Parents, along with his anti-bullying book series, Malik’s Big Dream and Malik The Difference Maker, have achieved an even broader impact.


Dorothy Wilson

Retired Government Executive (Board of Directors)

Dorothy Wilson has passion for people and is a strong supporter of community service. She is a retired cilvil servant with 40 years of working with the federal government. Her last position was the Deputy Finance Officer with the Department of Veterans Affairs at the VISN office. This included financial involvement with 11 VA hospitals in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. Her experience also involves managerial oversight of financial personnel while working at the VA and other Federal agencies before going to the VISN office. Dorothy has also been involved with an intercity ministry for over 20 years demonstrating her passion for community issues and people in general. She currently is working as a Life Coach with Dream Builders University. She has worked for Dream builders for 7 years. She also serves as a board member on the Board of Directors at Hamilton County Math and Science Academy.


Kathy Wright

Chief Development Officer (Administrative Team)

Kathy D. Wright is on the board of Directors for the Dream Builders University Foundaton and is tthe Director of Educator Experiences for the PAST Foundation, an organization that is a hub for innovation. PAST connects education, industry, and diverse communities to problem-solve for the future of work and inspire life-long learning. Kathy is a former Principal and Program Facilitator in Cincinnati, Public Schools. She has focused much of her career as a science educator, and administrator, and now as an education and leadership consultant and coach on developing innovative practices that lead to extraordinary outcomes. Kathy has established and facilitated professional learning opportunities for a wide range of organizations in both the public and private areas. Her knowledge of effective and innovative leadership, culture, and equitable systems have enabled her to lead organizational change efforts for many schools.

She is active in her community as the she sits on the board of My Brother’s Keeper Cincinnati and is a member of the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative. She is also the former National Division Director of Multicultural/Equity in Science Education for the National Science Teachers Association.

Kathy has Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Secondary Science Education, an Executive MBA from Howard University, and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction Secondary Science Education from the University of Cincinnati.
